Children’s art classes, taught by Courtney Harvey, will begin September 10th, 2012, with a monthly cost for participation of $40 per child (Only $10 per week!) which includes supplies.
Courtney Harvey is a certified K-12 art instructor with 13 years of teaching experience. She has a Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Art Education from the University of Maine. She has been teaching at Veazie Community School in grades K through 8 for 13 years and serves as adjunct faculty member for the University of Maine doing student teacher supervision. The art program at Between Friends Art Center will provide students with the opportunity to learn about art styles, art history, and art techniques through a variety of experiences with materials from chalk and colored pencils, to painting, to sculpture. The lessons are taught with an educational purpose in mind and are curricular based.

Adult craft classes will resume at a later date.
Tracey Marceron will continue offering group craft classes. Jewelry-making, stenciling, decoupage, collage work, wooden sculpture, folk-art painting, scrapbooking, oven-bake clay, primitive/outsider/altered art, floral arranging, wreath-making, among others, are some of the types of crafts that will be taught. The cost will be $8.00 per class plus a small materials fee for your choice of project ranging from $2.00 to $10.00.
